10,000 Shirts in 10 Hours
When “Big Red” (Coach Andy Reid) calls, you answer. Or at least that’s what Relentless Merch did when they secured a bid to print over 10,000 t-shirts in celebration of the back-to-back Super Bowl Champions. Here’s the kicker, the order would only be valid if the Chiefs won.
Like a scurry of caffeinated squirrels… Nathan Richardson and his team worked through the night to fill the order in time for delivery the next morning. With 4 shirt presses running, kicking out 2,000 shirts per hour — the team would go on to fill the order in time for Taylor Swift’s boyfriend to celebrate in KC, which is also apparently referred to as the “Chief’s Kingdom”.
📌 Why It Matters:
Each year, we throw away 92 million tons of garments into landfills. While losing team apparel only accounts for a sliver of this waste, the Super Bowl provides an opportunity to highlight sustainability efforts.
Who distributes the loser’s apparel? That responsibility belongs to Good360, which distributes the shirts to communities in need across the world.

MIXED BAG
Lincoln Public Schools had a wild week. 🎢
It started on Tuesday when news broke that a Department of Justice investigation report found that the school district had discriminated against deaf and hearing-impaired students. This is the result of an LPS policy that requires all students believed to need ASL interpretation services to attend a cluster school. In the process, the blanket policy ignores resources at the student’s school — and can cause long commutes for children.
Double trouble… The school district found itself in hot water again after it came to light that LPS is one of the four largest school districts in Nebraska using debt collectors to recoup unpaid lunch tabs.
📊 Key Data Point
“More than a quarter of the debts were under $50, and only one exceeded $200. The debt collector recovered about $43,000 of the $112,000 owed by LPS families and got a 40% cut of the cash.”
The good? The LPS Board of Education approved a raise for employees. And across the state, Governor Pillen has reversed his original decision and will accept $18 million in funding for the summer food program. The program will give $40/month in grocery funds for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch while on summer break.
