WHAT TO DO
Sushi, Krampus, and the Sheldon.
š£ Sushi night at Shokunin
Get your friends on the horn and tell them to scrap their dinner plans. Tonight, youāre going to Shokunin. Youāll start off with a pre-meal cocktail at The Other Room, or Kate Martin, before making your way to dinner. While not necessarily a hidden gem, Shokunin may be the most underrated sushi restaurant in Lincoln. Hereās your order:
Appetizer: Crispy Torpedo and/or Chicken Karaage
Drink: Sake is the move, ask your server for their recommendation here
Rolls: Spicy Toro Roll, Super Rainbow, Big Mouth
Not a fan of sushi? Check out the International Quilt Museum Art Market (itās open tonight until 6:00 PM, and tomorrow 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM). Browse the market, pick up a few pieces, or get a jump on that holiday shopping list.
𤔠Krampus Crawl
Warning: Should you find yourself in downtown Lincoln on Saturday, you may just encounter Santaās lesser-known and admittedly creepy sidekick, Krampus. Itās all part of Bierhaus MaisschƤlerās Krampus Crawl, a (very) old-fashioned bar crawl in downtown Lincoln. Come ready to play, as there will be Hammerschlagen at the Kinkaider Taproom patio, and Stein Holding at The Rooftop.
Note: Save your legs the walk & reserve a Midwestern limousine (Group Therapy bike).
š§āāļø Family-Friendly Alternative: The Little Mermaid at the Lied Center
Ariel and the gang are in town for the weekend. Grab tickets to The Little Mermaid showing at the Lied Center. A crowd-favorite performance, enjoy your childhood TV characters live and on stage. The show runs all weekend, with matinee and evening shows.
š¼ļø Sunday Seasonal Rotation: Hub CafĆ© & the Sheldon
Youāll ease into Sunday with brunch at Hub CafĆ©āand taste their seasonal menu. Stay a while, have a few cups of coffee, and then stroll over to the Sheldon Museum of Art to explore their rotating exhibits. Itās a calm, art-filled way to wrap up your weekend.
Fun Fact: The Sheldon Art Association and the University of Nebraska have a combined collection of artwork that spans over 13,000 pieces.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
Main character energy š¦øāāļø
Like the hero of a great story, this home is at a crossroads. Our main characterā1530 N Gate Circleāhas hit that pivotal moment of self-reflection. Itās not the end; itās the beginning of a transformation (montage). But with a little guidance (weāll play the Yoda figure, ears and all), this home is ready to train, evolve, and rise to its full potential.
This house has the bones of a future champion but needs a visionary with grit and creativity to lead the charge. Behind the wood-lined walls lies a foundation of solid design waiting to be refined. Think of it as a scrappy street brawler, honing their skills for the big fight. The key is to commit to a style that embraces its strengthsālike the extensive woodworkāand refines its identity.
To us, this home has the heart of the champion. But, do you have the grit to bring it back to glory?
The Details:
3 beds, 3 baths
3,337 sq/ft
Built in 1992
ā¤ļø KEEP: The brick flooring (yes, itās coming back), the bedroom fireplace, the wood paneling/accents throughout the main level, and (maybe) the recreation room (although weāll likely need a new hot tub š§āāļø).
šļø TOSS: The kitchen, the bathroom, the old carpet, the light fixtures, the tudor siding accents, and the backyard landscaping (we love terraces, but this one needs a little love).
